ELT, meaning English Language Teaching is a global profession and one of the fastest growing fields in the world.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is pivotal if you must survive in this field as a teacher of English.
I have enjoyed some life-changing courses from FutureLearn and British Council.
These courses have significantly spurred my love for pursuing my career in ELT. (Find the links below this post). They are resourceful, supportive, and flexible.
Since I took these courses, my ELT skills have been elevated. I'm sure they'll be life-changing for you too. You'll come back to testify.
I don't want to be humble. My income has tripled monthly from having these skills. I have built so much composure in teaching English and have developed promising freelancing skills.
Creativity in ELT begins from how much you've learnt and unlearned and relearned technical classroom teachings through CPDs.
In this post, I'll suggest to you some courses that I took that helped me in this journey. You can enroll in these courses for free:
They are:
👉 Cambridge Assessment English's "Teaching English Online"
This was the very best course that I took during the global COVID-19 lockdown on how to effectively start online English Language Teaching. It was towards the end of the course I got to network with participants and teachers worldwide. I met Cecilia Nobre, Lindsay Warwick, Marie Theresa, lots, etc. The links to this course can be found below this post.
👉Accenture's Digital Skills Courses
This is not specifically for ELT but it has helped me to understand the new world of marketing and website development, SEO, Advertisements, and so on. I have reflected on these skills in my blog. In fact, it came with a free certificate. The links to this course can be found below this post.
👉British Council's "Teaching and Assessing Core Skills"
I love this course! You'll learn to understand essential skills needed in the 21st-century workplace. You'll also be exposed to strategies for taking each of these skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and so on. The links to this course can be found below this post.
👉British Council's Teaching Pathways
You can find this on the British Council TeachingEnglish website. The courses include:
👉Teaching Pronunciation
👉Teaching the 21st Century Skills
👉Teaching Speaking
👉 Teaching Grammar (recently added)
👉 Teaching English Course: Lesson Planning (British Council)
You will learn how to plan a good lesson. This is the most basic and essential part of ELT. You can't afford to miss it. The links to this course can be found below this post.
I've taken these courses and I'm still ready to take more.
